Getting started

Connect your own app to OutDocAI — upload documents, ask questions, and generate reports with a simple API key.

1. Get your API keyCopy Anchor Link

Keys are managed on the Organization page.

1. Sign in to OutDocAI as an organization admin.
2. Open Organization, then click View API Key.
3. Copy the key (it starts with od_).
4. To rotate it later, click the regenerate icon — the old key stops working right away.

Keep this key private, like a password. Only use it from your server — not from browser code or public repos.

Send your key on every request:

Authorization: Bearer od_your_key_here

3. Base URLCopy Anchor Link

All public endpoints live under:

http://localhost:8000/api/v1/public

In production, replace the host with your API base.

4. Try a first requestCopy Anchor Link

You should get back your organization name and id. If you see 401, double-check the key.

• About 300 read requests per minute
• About 120 write requests per minute
• If you hit the limit, wait a moment and try again (HTTP 429)
